We critically analysed the last ten years, reviewed EU laws and initiatives of both European Commission and European Parliament to achieve more gender-equal representation on all levels of the society and agreed on new strategies to improve the so-far insufficient results.
The topic is particularly relevant in the view of the upcoming European elections in May 2019. First, because of giving input for new EU Strategies for the Commission 2019 – 2024 and second because we must convince our EPP member parties to implement a 40% equal gender representation on their candidate lists.
